JVS Portraits - Who’s needs daylight? All I need is a great family, one strobe and a dock…

Anne and I recently had the chance to photograph a wonderful family over a two-day span. On day one, we started at location A and shot some great earthy warm-tones. Location B was only a short distance away and again we worked the fading sun in to some super-sweet frames! Location C was populated so we had to resort to location D (our back-up). By the time we arrived at location D, the sun had already gone to bed.

Anne, myself and Kyle (super assistant and behind the scenes videographer:) quickly pulled out a Matthews Overhead Roller with an AlienBees B1600, 3 degree grid spot and power courtesy of a Vagabond II…all on a boat dock in the pitch dark.
