The Speedlites Workshop is a long, 10+ hour day that will be jammed packed full of learning, eating, shooting and more eating:) By the end of the day you’ll be beyond excited about shooting with your Speedlites. You’ll learn to shape your Speedlites with grids, para reflectors, umbrella’s, snoots, gels, ring flashes and beauty dishes made specifically for Speedlites.

This is a hands-on, working Workshop and we’ll have plenty of gear on hand for you to create with!

Included with tuition to the Workshop, you’ll receive a 30+ page PDF containing detailed lighting diagrams of everything you’ll shoot along with a gear list that includes every piece of gear you used!

JVS Workshops: BTS - Denver Speedlites Workshop with RadioPopper PX’s & Cheetah Boom

JVS Speedlites Workshop Denver

New to the blog are BTS (behind the scenes) images captured from Speedlite Workshops and my daily shooting. First off, notice San Francisco based shooter Meg Sexton (and her killer boots) as she rushes :) to give one of our Workshop models direction. Go Meg!

This image was snapped during a demo of “controlling and overpowering the sun with RadioPoppers.” Each Workshop shooter was taught the benefits of adding RadioPopper PX’s to their arsenal. The RP’s allow you to sync your Speedlites at any shutter speed. You might be asking yourself, so what? #1 RP’s allow you to shoot with your super fast L glass at 1.2 and control those backgrounds. #2 They give you the flexibility to overpower the sun by using high-speed sync. #3 RadioPopper PX’s are NOT line of site, go ahead, place those Speedlites wherever you want and maintain ETTL!

Tech data:
4 - RadioPopper PX Receivers for Canon
2 - RadioPopper PX Transmitters for Canon
4 - Canon 580EX II Speedlites
4 - Quantum Turbo SC’s
4 - Cheetah Boom Stands
4 - Photoflex Heavy Duty Swivel Mounts
1 - Canon EOS 7D & Canon BG-E7 Battery Grip
1 - Canon 24-105 f/4 IS lens
The final exposure for the top right image was 1/2000th @ f/5.6 @ 200 ASA.

Thanks for reading and we’d love to see you at one of our upcoming Speedlite Workshops! JVS
